Since joining UMMC’s leadership team in 1992, Alison Gates Brown, MPH, BSN, has made it her mission to devote her time and energy to care for patients, colleagues and community members alike.
In light of Alison’s retirement this September, please join us as we celebrate her more than 30 years of business acumen, clinical experience, and empathy throughout the University of Maryland Medical System—first at UMMC’s downtown campus, across the System and most recently at our UMMC Midtown Campus.
A gift to the newly established Alison Gates Brown Fund at UMMC Midtown recognizes her remarkable accomplishments and dedication to the University of Maryland Medical Center and our community at large. The Fund will support what is most important to Alison—priorities that provide equitable health care, empower women, promote inclusivity, and innovate solutions to improve the health of communities.
Over the month, it is our goal to raise $1Million to honor Alison, memorialize her indelible legacy, and support the countless people who will benefit from the Brown Fund. We hope you will join us in our effort to celebrate her legacy. No gift is too small.

“Working in health care is all about helping people live in their best health and that’s what we strive to do every day in every community served by the University of Maryland Medical System. We make Maryland a better place through our expanding network of physicians, nurses and health care teams collaborating to deliver expert care as close to people’s homes as possible, to discover new cures and treatments and to train tomorrow’s healthcare workforce.”* ~ Alison Gates Brown, MPH, BSN |
