UMGCCC specialists are with patients every step of the way. One of only 73 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States, we bring together expert clinicians and leading researchers to offer innovative, advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment.
What does it mean to be a comprehensive care center?
First and foremost, it means the foundation for everything we do is a constant focus on our patients.
Next, the teamwork between lab and clinic brings new ideas and methods to prevent and treat cancer. We call this the “bench to bedside” approach. Clinical scientists and physicians working with patients have direct access to research labs where they explore cancer causes and develop new methods of prevention and treatment.
At UMGCCC patients also have immediate access to appointments and the ability to meet with multiple oncology specialists in a single visit. Once a diagnosis is made, patients in our care have access to minimally invasive therapies for treating most types of cancer, and to a variety of clinical trials.
Through these life-changing treatments, UMGCCC makes a difference for cancer patients here and around the world.
